Guitarist Bob Welch, who was best known as a member of the band Fleetwood Mac during the early 1970s, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest at his home in Antioch, Tennessee, on June 7, 2012. He was 66. He was born Robert Lawrence Welch, Jr., in Los Angeles on August 31,1945. He was the son of Paramount Pictures producer Robert Welch and actress Templeton Fox.
