Take It Away by Paul McCartney (1982)

"Take It Away" is a single by Paul McCartney from his 1982 album Tug of War. The single spent sixteen weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, reaching #10 It reached #15 in the UK. The music video, directed by John Makenzie, features former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and long-time producer George Martin, both of whom played on the track, as well as actor John Hurt.

Although there is a segue from "Tug of War" into this song on the album, the single version instead starts cleanly but fades out earlier at the end.

Whip It - DEVO (1980)

"Whip It" is a song by American rock band Devo from their third album Freedom of Choice (1980). It is a new wave and synth-pop song that features a synthesizer, electric guitar, bass guitar, and drums in its instrumentation. The apparently nonsensical lyrics have a common theme revolving around the ability to deal with one's problems by "whipping it". Co-written by bassist Gerald Casale and singer Mark Mothersbaugh, Devo recorded "Whip It" with producer Robert Margouleff at the Record Plant in Los Angeles.

Although "Whip It" was released as the second single from Freedom of Choice, Warner Bros. Records did not expect it to be a hit, due to its nonstandard tempo and strange lyrics. The disc jockey Kal Rudman took an interest in the song and it was soon being played on several radio stations in the Southeastern United States. Peaking at number fourteen on the Billboard Hot 100, "Whip It" became a hit single and found chart success in several countries.

Henry Paul (born August 25, 1949 in Kingston, New York) is an American southern rock and country singer/songwriter who was an original recording member of the Southern rock band Outlaws. He left to form the Henry Paul Band but then returned to the Outlaws. He also is a founding member of the country band BlackHawk.

Within a year after leaving The Outlaws Henry founded the Henry Paul Band, debuting in 1979 with the album Grey Ghost. It included songs such as "So Long" and "Grey Ghost", which was dedicated to the memory of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Ronnie Van Zant.

Giving It Up For Your Love by Delbert McClinton (1980)

Delbert McClinton (born November 4, 1940) is an American blues rock and electric blues singer-songwriter, guitarist, harmonica player, and pianist.

From his first professional stage appearance in 1957 to his most recent national tour in 2018, he has recorded albums for several major record labels and singles that have reached the Billboard Hot 100, Mainstream Rock Tracks, and Hot Country Songs charts. His highest-charting single was "Tell Me About It", a 1992 duet with Tanya Tucker, which reached number 4 on the Country chart. Four of his albums have been number 1 on the U.S. Blues chart, and another reached number 2. His highest charting pop hit was 1980's "Giving It Up for Your Love," which peaked at number 8 on the Hot 100.

Brown Sugar by The Rolling Stones (1971)

"Brown Sugar" is a song by the Rolling Stones. It is the opening track and lead single from their album Sticky Fingers (1971). Rolling Stone magazine ranked it number 495 on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and at number five on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time.

Bitch by The Rolling Stones (1971)

"Bitch" is a song by the English rock band the Rolling Stones from their 1971 album Sticky Fingers, first released one week before the album as the B-side to its advance single, "Brown Sugar". Despite not being used as an official single by itself, the tune has garnered major airplay from AOR radio stations.

Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, "Bitch" was recorded in October 1970 at London's Olympic Studios, and at Stargroves using the Rolling Stones Mobile studio.

I Need Your Lovin' by Teena Marie (1980)

"I Need Your Lovin'" is a 1980 song by American singer-songwriter Teena Marie. "I Need Your Lovin'" peaked at #9 on the US Black Singles chart and #37 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also reached #28 in the United Kingdom, making it Marie's second and last top 30 single in that country. In addition, along with the track "Chains", "I Need Your Lovin'" peaked at number two for two weeks on the dance charts.

The year was 1980 when a shy, adorable 13-year-old by the name of Stacy Lattisaw made her mark on the R&B charts with the hit album and song Let Me Be Your Angel.

After that first smash, Lattisaw was a dominant force as a young star in the music industry. She recorded two blockbuster remakes, Love On A Two Way Street and Don't Throw It All Away, and pumped out a slew of other popular tunes like Dynamite, Jump to the Beat, Miracles, Nail It to the Wall and Let Me Take You Down.
