Monkey Business by Skid Row (1991)

"Monkey Business" is a song by Skid Row that was released in May 1991 as the lead single from their second album, Slave to the Grind and marked their change from hard-hitting glam metal to overall heavy metal. It was written by band mates Rachel Bolan and Dave "the Snake" Sabo. The song was the biggest hit on Slave to the Grind and although the song didn't make the top 40 it reached number 13 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks and still gets heavy airplay on rock radio stations.

Shelter Me - Cinderella (1990)

"Shelter Me" was the lead single from Cinderella's third album, Heartbreak Station. It peaked at #36 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The single originally peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 26 in the UK. Following the release of the 2019 biopic The Dirt, the track returned to the rock singles chart in both the US and the UK in April of that year.

"House of Pain" is a power ballad by American rock band Faster Pussycat. The song was released as the third and final single from the album Wake Me When It's Over. The song is the most popular by the band, peaking at no. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song first charted on December 21, 1991, appearing in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. It rose in the charts in over 20 countries, reaching number one in the U.S. It also reached a peak of number three in the UK.

"More Than Words" is a song by rock band Extreme. It is the fifth track and third single from their 1990 album Pornograffitti. It is a ballad built around acoustic guitar work by Nuno Bettencourt and the vocals of Gary Cherone (with harmony vocals from Bettencourt). The song is a detour from the funk metal style that permeates the band's records. As such, it has often been described as "a blessing and a curse" due to its overwhelming success and recognition worldwide, but the band ultimately embraced it and plays it on every show.

Wait by White Lion (1987)

"Wait" is a song recorded by White Lion and written by White Lion vocalist Mike Tramp and guitarist Vito Bratta. It was the lead single from their second album, Pride. The single was released on June 1, 1987, but did not chart until February 1988, around the time the band filmed their Live in New York concert for MTV. "High Enough" is a song by American supergroup Damn Yankees from their self titled debut album. A power ballad, it is their most successful single in terms of chart position and sales, rising to No. 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, the group's first (and only) top-ten pop single. It also reached No. 2 on the US Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The success of "High Enough" helped send its parent album into the Top 20 on the US albums chart.

"Every Rose Has Its Thorn" is the title of a power ballad song by American glam metal band Poison. It was released in October 1988 as the third single from Poison's second album Open Up and Say... Ahh!. The band's signature song, it is also their only number-one hit in the U.S.

"In My Dreams" is a song by American heavy metal band Dokken, released in 1985 on the album Under Lock and Key. The song peaked at number 24 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and at number 77 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.
